The latest Marvel superhero to hit the big screen, the long-in-development Deadpool, finally has a new trailer for all the world to see. Ryan Reynolds plays Wade Wilson, the ‘Merc with a Mouth,’ who, while suffering from cancer, is given a new lease on life, and new abilities, which he uses to take down the baddies. He’s a wise-ass, foul language-spewing motormouth, and Reynolds seems perfect to play him. Actually, Reynolds already has, in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was poorly received by fans, a chief reason being due to Deadpool inexplicably having his mouth sewn shut, thereby stifling one of the character’s primary and most beloved traits.
The new film is being directed by first-time helmer, Tim Miller, and co-stars Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Homeland, Gotham) as Wade’s girlfriend, Vanessa, and the always hilarious T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley, Transformers: Age of Extinction) as Wade’s best friend, Weasel. Watching Reynolds and Miller trade barbs should be highly entertaining, as you’ll see in the trailer below. Also, it should be noted that this new Marvel offering from Fox comes R-rated, which you will also get a taste of in this red-band trailer that is not for the kiddies, though that will make them want to see it even more. Enjoy and mark your calendars for Feb. 12, 2016.
